It's true. Prioritizing your health allows your to be in the best physical and mental health to offer help to others. That means you can give more at work, at home, and with friends. You will have more energy to do all the things you want without feeling drained or exhausted (like you do now).
How does that work? I know it sounds counterproductive, nut the more energy and time to devote to your health, the more energy and time you have to give. I like to think of it like a gas tank in a car, we need to refuel the tank if we want to drive farther. We need to regularly fill it back up, so we don't run out of gas (ie. crash from exhaustion)
In all my years struggling with my own health, and all the clients I’ve worked with, we all had the same things in common…we weren’t taking care of all the aspects of our health.
